HAUL

I did a little online shopping and thought I would post about what I received.
I ordered from kissandmakeupny. It took about a month to arrive, which isn't too unusual for Australia.

This is what I ordered!
These are all firsts for me. I had never tried Butter London or Deborah Lippman polishes or anything by Nars.
I'd heard great reviews about Nars blush in Orgasm so I thought I'd give it a try. I LOVE IT! It's a really hard colour to describe. It's a shimmery peachy coral. I tend to shy away from shimmer blush for a day look, but it's very subtle on the skin. This blush just adds a really healthy glow that lasts all day.

The Deborah Lippman nail polish is in the colour Mermaid's Dream. Above is one coat of DL over one coat of OPI Mermaids tears. The opacity of this glitter amazes me, usually  it takes at least four coats to get a solid colour. It also has amazing staying power! I got a whole week of wear without a chip. My nails were, however, heavily stained. I have never had mermaids tears stain my nails before.

The Butter London polishes I bought were Frilly Knickers, Henley Regatta, Rosie Lee, Horse Power treatment and Powder Room remover. I have only had the chance to try Rosie Lee and it is fantastic! I used about four coats for full coverage. It's a really pretty dusty rose.
I am super keen to give frilly knickers and Henley Regatta a go! I'll use the treatment in the build up to placement. I need to have clean unpolished nails, and with all the hand washing I'll need to do something to strengthen them.

Do you have any favourite online stores?

Lust Have It: August 2012

My Lust Have It arrived! This month they have really outdone themselves! I think it's an extra special box to celebrate their first birthday.

This months box came beautifully wrapped. Simple and classic.

Nail Art: Owls and Butterfly Wings

I got these designs from cutepolish. She does great tutorials for simple nail designs that are, dare I say it, CUTE!

This is such a cute little owl. I'm not totally happy with it. I think the green and purple are too similar in tone and I put the feathers in the wrong place. The colours I used are OPI mermaids tears and
do you lilac it?.

NOTD

I just finished my post about Lush and thought it was a good time to upload todays nails (and postpone writing my essay).
I'm keeping it simple at the moment, a nice nude colour with a subtle glitter accent.
OPI You Callin' Me a Lyre and Pirouette My Whistle

This is a super easy look to do. I think I used about four coats of You Callin' me a Lyre to reach this opacity.

Lush: Bubble Bars

Hey all!

I stumbled upon a Lush store in Melbourne a few months back. I'd heard about lush from a few bloggers and vloggers online and was pretty keen to give it a go.
Here's a list of the bubble bars that I have tried/purchased so far.

Bubble Bar
I was really intrigued by the idea of a bubble bar. You get two uses out of each bar. Just crumble it up and mix it into the bath water as it is pouring. Swoosh the water around with your hand to make it bubble up more. The bubbles last a long time and add a beautiful moisturising quality to the water.

Yuzu & Cocoa Bubbleroon
$6.50

I love skincare with Yuzu in it. It has a beautiful orange scent. This bar left me smelling gorgeous, and feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time.

Hairspray!

Hey Guys,

I've just been to see the local production of Hairspray with my partner and his parents.
The cast a crew did a FANTASTIC job!

To go with all the bright colours I decided to do the nails in a beautiful blue:

This is actually a super cheap pick up. It's called Blue Marlin by a brand called Ulta3. I got it from the supermarket for $2. The blue caught my eye!
It's two coats over white. A good thickness, but got a little messy when applying.

Blog: The first.

Hey all!

Welcome to my blog.

A little about myself:
I have only recently become addicted to nail polish. In December 2011 I purchased my first two decent bottles of nail polish: OPI Designer De Better; and Gettin' Miss Piggy With It.
I fell head over heels in love!

Since then I have been slowly increasing my collection. Now I live in what is considered "rural" Victoria, Australia, so I get super excited when I find/order new products (usually online). That's why I decided to start this blog. My boyfriend get's sick of listening to me!

I also love sharing pictures of my creations. You can find me on Instagram as Milly148.

This blog won't be all about nail polish, but I'll admit, it will be a dominant theme.
I am also in a loving relationship, studying nursing and am planning on teaching myself how to crochet soon.

To start us off are a number of photos of different polishes and designs that I've done so far.
I hope you enjoy!

Ahh! Look how messy this is! (OPI Scull and gloss bones)

(OPI do you lilac it)

Roses (I can't remember what colours I used here, sorry)

My first cloud mani (OPI Fly, designer de better, alpine snow and save me)

Gotta love mario brothers. I got this design from Cute Polish

(OPI did it on 'em and save me)

Cheers for now,

Milly x
